Quick Answer
Ace Combat 8 has 20 known aircraft entries so far: 18 planes currently shown on the official Aircraft page, plus the F-14A pre-order aircraft and the ADFX-02 Morgan-PIXY Premium Ace Pass aircraft. Bandai Namco has separately confirmed over 30 playable aircraft for the full game, so the final all-planes roster is still unresolved.

This tracker lists known aircraft evidence, not a final launch roster. Bandai Namco has confirmed over 30 playable aircraft for the full game, so unrevealed entries remain outside the table until named by an official or reproducible source.
What counts as all planes right now
This page uses “all planes” to mean every known playable aircraft entry with source evidence, not the final launch roster. The official Aircraft page currently displays 18 named planes. A PlayStation Blog article authored by Bandai Namco Entertainment separately says Ace Combat 8 will let players pilot over 30 aircraft in the full game.
Those two facts have different scopes. The 18-plane list is a dated reveal snapshot; “over 30” is the full-game scale without a complete public name list. The table above therefore includes only named aircraft and keeps unrevealed roster slots out of the count.
That is also why the page says “known so far” in the title. A complete-looking table built from earlier Ace Combat habits, real-world aircraft expectations, or community wishlists would be easier to write but less useful to players waiting for verified launch data.
Confirmed aircraft-page planes
The 18 planes from Bandai Namco’s Aircraft page are the backbone of this tracker. They are currently the only aircraft group displayed together on the official aircraft-specific page, so they receive the bucket “Official Aircraft page.”
The page does not publish a full aircraft-by-aircraft unlock tree, MRP price list, special weapon list, or complete performance table. Until that changes, the table preserves the names and acquisition bucket without guessing how each plane unlocks in Campaign or Online.
For a narrower view of that official reveal page, use the dedicated Ace Combat 8 aircraft list. This all-planes page is broader: it adds known bonus and pass aircraft, then explains which roster facts remain unresolved.
Bonus and pass aircraft
The F-14A is a pre-order bonus playable aircraft. It should not be merged into the official Aircraft page’s 18 displayed planes, and it should not be treated as the same entry as the F-14D Super Tomcat. The names are close enough to confuse searchers, so this page keeps both rows visible with different buckets.
The ADFX-02 Morgan-PIXY belongs to the Premium Ace Pass context in the existing official fact report. Bandai Namco’s Online Guide also says playable aircraft DLC included in the Premium Ace Pass will be available for purchase separately after the season ends. That supports a pass/DLC bucket, but it does not publish every season aircraft, regional price, or exact later sale timing.
Online Mode has its own progression and separate save data from Campaign Mode. For planes, that means this page cannot copy a Campaign unlock assumption into Online or vice versa. Acquisition notes stay conservative until the released game or official guide exposes the actual path.
Why this page is separate from aircraft list
Ace combat 8 all planes and ace combat 8 aircraft list overlap, but they do not ask exactly the same thing. A user typing “all planes” usually wants every known aircraft bucket in one place: displayed aircraft, bonuses, pass aircraft, and missing final roster status. A user typing “aircraft list” can be served by a stricter reveal database.
The split is intentional:
/all-planes/answers “what are all known planes so far, and how are they obtained?”/aircraft-list/answers “what does the official Aircraft page currently show?”
Both pages link to each other, but their H1s, descriptions, opening answers, and tables are different. That keeps the site from publishing two near-identical thin pages for the same query.
What is still unresolved
The final all-planes roster is not public yet. Bandai Namco has confirmed the full game scale as over 30 aircraft, but it has not published the complete name list, the exact final number, or every acquisition condition.
The unresolved fields are:
- exact final playable aircraft total;
- unrevealed aircraft names;
- Campaign unlock order and MRP prices;
- Online unlock requirements and whether every Campaign plane has the same online availability;
- full performance stats, special weapons, and part slots;
- future standalone pricing and timing for Premium Ace Pass aircraft DLC.
These fields should be updated in place as official pages expand or launch-week verification becomes possible. Until then, “TBD” is the accurate answer, not a missing writing pass.
Source policy
This page uses the project’s official fact report, the new all-planes keyword research file, Bandai Namco’s Aircraft page, the official product page, the Online Guide, Bandai Namco’s September 1, 2026 multiplayer reveal, and PlayStation Blog’s Bandai Namco-authored launch article.
It does not use community roster predictions as aircraft facts. Community lists may be useful later as a testing checklist, but a plane enters the public table only when it is named by an official source or verified directly in the released game.
