Confirmed launch platforms
Bandai Namco lists PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and Steam as the launch platform groups for ACE COMBAT 8: WINGS OF THEVE. Steam is the confirmed storefront for the Windows PC release. The official global date for all three groups is October 2, 2026.
The confirmed list does not currently include PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Nintendo hardware, macOS, Linux, Epic Games Store, GOG, or Microsoft Store for PC. That is a dated “not announced in the checked sources” statement, not a promise that another platform can never appear. Any new platform belongs in the existing comparison table after an official listing is published.
All three launch groups support the game’s single-player campaign and online offering. Cross-platform play is confirmed, while the Japanese official specification states that cross-platform save transfer is not supported. Account linking, friend invitations, regional servers, voice features, and cross-platform party procedures remain TBD.
PS5
Ace Combat 8 PS5 is confirmed for release on October 2, 2026. The PlayStation Store US listed Standard at US$69.99 and Deluxe at US$89.99 on August 30. Those prices are a regional snapshot and do not include every country’s tax, currency, discount, or final checkout total.
The official store says online play is required for the online modes, supports up to eight online players, and requires PlayStation Plus for online play. That subscription line is an online-access condition. It is not evidence that the full game is included in the PlayStation Plus game catalog.
No verified PS5 specification currently gives a resolution or frame-rate mode table. The collected official sources also do not confirm Adaptive Trigger support, detailed haptic feedback, or a PS5 Pro Enhanced field. Those features remain TBD until a store update, publisher specification, or release-build test provides direct evidence.

PC
The confirmed Ace Combat 8 PC release is for Windows through Steam. The current minimum requires Windows 11, 16 GB RAM, an RTX 2060 or RX 6600 XT, DirectX 12, an SSD, 125 GB of space, and a graphics card capable of hardware ray tracing. The detailed tier table is maintained on the separate system requirements page.
Official Japanese product information also publishes a High target using an RTX 4080 or RX 7900 XTX for 3840×2160 upscaled at 60 fps. It separately names a 3840×1600 UWQHD+ target at High settings, upscaled, and 60 fps. These are publisher targets, not independent launch-build benchmarks.
No official native macOS or Linux release is confirmed in the checked sources. Epic Games Store, GOG, and Microsoft Store PC listings were also not found as of August 30. Frame generation, DLSS, FSR, XeSS, individual ray-tracing controls, shader compilation behavior, and final performance remain TBD.
Steam
The correct Ace Combat 8 Steam product is App ID 2288340. The current page lists the developer as Bandai Namco Aces Inc., the publisher as Bandai Namco Entertainment Inc., and the US digital prices as US$69.99 for Standard and US$89.99 for Deluxe. A different app number should not be used for this game.
Steam lists Single-player, Online PvP, Online Co-op, and Cross-Platform Multiplayer. It does not currently provide enough verified information for this page to promise Steam Cloud, Family Sharing, Workshop, Trading Cards, or Steam Deck verification. Missing feature tags stay TBD rather than being interpreted as permanent exclusions.
The US store label says October 1, 2026, while its technical timestamp is October 1 at 22:00 UTC, which is October 2 at 06:00 in Beijing. That timing aligns with the official October 2 global date when time zones are handled correctly. The homepage release section remains the site’s canonical detailed timing reference.

Xbox
Ace Combat 8 Xbox is confirmed for Xbox Series X|S on October 2, 2026. The US Xbox listing showed Standard at US$69.99+ and Deluxe at US$89.99+ on August 30. The plus signs are part of the published starting-price display and are preserved instead of being silently removed.
Xbox publishes the most specific current player-count fields: Online Co-op for 4–8 players and Online Multiplayer for 4–8 players. It also lists cross-platform multiplayer. The exact supported missions, matchmaking behavior, party creation, voice chat, and cross-platform invitation flow remain TBD for the multiplayer guide.
Console online multiplayer requires an eligible Xbox Game Pass Essential, Premium, or Ultimate tier according to the current store wording. That requirement does not mean the game itself is included in the Game Pass catalog. No confirmed store badge currently supports a launch-day subscription-library claim.
Series X versus Series S resolution, frame rate, graphics modes, and feature differences remain TBD. Xbox One, Play Anywhere, cross-save, and a combined console/PC purchase entitlement are also not confirmed by the collected P0 sources. The page does not infer them from other Bandai Namco games.
The official Walkthrough Trailer provides shared game context across the confirmed platforms. It is embedded through YouTube’s privacy-enhanced domain and loads only after interaction. Live views, likes, comments, duration, and subtitle availability are not copied into this platform comparison.
Cross-platform play and cross-save
Cross-platform multiplayer is confirmed by Bandai Namco and listed on Steam and Xbox. It covers online play across the published platform families, but it should not be rewritten as cross-platform ownership or save transfer. The Japanese official specification explicitly says cross-save between platforms is not supported.
The supported account system, friend lookup, private lobby invitations, opt-out controls, default settings, and regional matchmaking boundaries are not fully published. Those questions belong to the multiplayer page once official instructions or release testing becomes available. For now, “cross-platform play confirmed” and “cross-save not supported” are the two safe conclusions.
Console subscription requirements still apply when using online modes on PlayStation or Xbox. PC players use Steam’s online service without a console subscription field, but that does not define every account or service dependency the final game may use. No platform should be described as offering fully independent online identity until the publisher documents the workflow.
Release date and store labels
October 2, 2026 is the official global release date for PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and Steam. Steam’s US-facing October 1 label comes from an unlock at 22:00 UTC, not from a second global launch date. The platform comparison keeps both facts without replacing one with the other.
Digital Deluxe pre-orders receive three-day Early Access beginning September 28 at 22:00 UTC. That time applies to the eligible digital entitlement, while physical delivery is a separate fulfillment question. Store region, local clock, account region, download availability, and service status should be checked before launch.
After release, pre-order and Early Access wording must become historical. Platform availability, performance modes, controller fields, subscription badges, and store features should then be rechecked against the released build and live listings. No new platform page is needed for those updates.

Source and update policy
Platform names and the global date come from Bandai Namco’s official product page. PS5 fields come from the PlayStation Store and PlayStation Blog, PC and Steam fields come from Steam and the Japanese official product site, and Xbox fields come from Xbox Store and Xbox Wire. All current prices are regional snapshots checked August 30, 2026.
The table links every row to its official platform source and marks unpublished performance fields TBD. Subscription requirements are kept separate from subscription-library availability, and cross-platform multiplayer is kept separate from cross-save. These distinctions must remain intact in future updates.
This page should be rechecked at Early Access, global release, and after the first platform patch. Ace Combat 8 Wiki is an independent, unofficial fan resource and is not affiliated with or endorsed by Bandai Namco Entertainment, PlayStation, Microsoft, or Valve.
